Arnold Schwarzenegger (76) has given private insights into his relationship with girlfriend Heather Milligan (48). In an interview with the US magazine “People” he describes the partnership with the physiotherapist as “fantastic”. The two have a lot of things in common and he thinks highly of her. “I think it’s great that she likes to work. She’s independent and just damn ambitious.”
He admires his girlfriend for making it through college and earning a master’s degree in business administration with student loans and jobs like bartending. She was also the “driving force” in her family and looked after her parents, who were both suffering from cancer. Most recently, Milligan took care of her grandmother. “Every evening she talks to her on the phone for at least half an hour. That’s how you get to know a person – the heart they have.”
Milligan and Schwarzenegger met in 2012 after his shoulder surgery while he was preparing to film “Escape Plan” with Sylvester Stallone (77). “When I asked my doctor how I could get fit again quickly, my doctor said: ‘There’s only one person, that’s Heather – I always send every athlete to her because she’s the only one who really knows what she’s talking about. “After the treatment and the filming of the film were finished, “I called her and invited her to lunch to say thank you. And then one thing led to another,” says Schwarzenegger.
The acting star also spoke about his friendly relationship with his ex-wife Maria Shriver (67). “We always talk about the kids, about the holidays, about birthday parties, Mother’s Day celebrations and Christmas,” he tells the magazine. “Even if it’s a different relationship, there’s no reason for me to feel anything other than love for her.”
Arnold Schwarzenegger has five children from two women. In addition to Katherine (33) and Patrick Schwarzenegger (30), he also has daughter Christina (32) and son Christopher (26) with his ex-wife. Son Joseph (25) comes from an extramarital affair with his former housekeeper Mildred Patricia Baena (62).
