After Josh Duggar’s conviction for child pornography, Jason “Jase”, Duggar broke his silence.
Jason posted a long statement to his Instagram Story Thursday saying that Jason, his oldest brother, was sentenced to 151 month imprisonment for possessing and receiving child pornography. Judge Timothy L. Brooks gave Josh a sentence that I believe is fair for the crime he committed.
Jason continued, saying, “My heart hurts over the choices made by my brother, his actions don’t reflect that of a Christian believer, and have doubtlessly defamed My Lord and Saviors name!” Joshua’s poor choices have had a significant impact on his family, including his wife, seven of their children, and the entire family.
The ex-TLC star stated that he had forgiven his brother for his “wrongdoings” and concluded his post.
“With that being said, I will never cease loving my brother, no matter what he does. Just as my savior forgave me, so have I forgiven my brother’s wrongdoings!” He wrote. “My prayer is for God to use this situation to truly humble him, and bring about a real change in his life!”
Josh was sentenced Wednesday to over 12 years in federal prison. He was also ordered to pay $50,100 in fines and special assessments.
Josh’s wife Anna, Jim Bob his father and Joy-Anna (Duggar), Forsyth, were there to support him during his sentencing hearing.
Jason was also present when U.S. District Judge Timothy L. Brooks sentenced the former 19 Kids and counting star, 34, at the Western District of Arkansas Federal Courthouse.
