A 23-year-old man died this Saturday when he was trapped after overturning the dumper loaded with sand that he was driving in a construction site where he worked, at number 14 Ferraz Street, next to the Temple of Debod, according to a spokesman for Madrid emergencies.
The events occurred around 11:15 a.m. when Emergencies Madrid received a call about what happened. A first crew of Firefighters has quickly arrived in the area, finding a construction dumper loaded with sand, which had overturned and imprisoned the driver.
The fire department technicians have proceeded to raise the machine and extract the victim, who was already without vital signs, to make it available to health personnel.
For this extraction, the firefighters have used a backhoe that was in the work itself and that has helped them to lift the machine.
Together with them, several endowments of the Samur-Civil Protection have found a person who presented a severe cranoencephalic, thoracic, abdominal and orthopedic trauma. The toilets have tried to revive him with maneuvers for more than 30 minutes without success due to the “so serious” injuries that he presented, since “from the first moment he was in cardiac arrest,” said the head of Samur’s guard, Isabel López.
The Municipal Police has taken charge of the investigation to clarify what happened and to see if there is a crime of abuse against the workers. In turn, they have been accompanied by a call from the Scientific Police of this same unit to provide more information to the investigation. The psychologists of the Samur-PC have assisted several companions of the deceased in the work.
