Ms. Frank, you wrote a book about love. What does a neurobiologist like you have to do with romance? Counter question: Why should we leave the field to philosophers and poets? They write beautiful things about love, yes, but their perspective is limited because it is based on personal assumptions. If we want to fathom the phenomenon of love, it is essential to turn to science. It tells us something about the basics of human action and human feelings. This is what I longed for – a deeper understanding of love in general, but also of the love I have experienced in my life.
