Tim Raue (49) starts his new job! The TV chef can be seen in “Raue – Der Restaurantretter” together with his wife Katharina from April 11th. Together they want to help restaurants that are threatened with their existence and support them with a new start. With three episodes each at 8:15 p.m. and a new name, RTL is continuing the multiple award-winning documentary format “Rach, der Restauranttester”, which has received awards including the German Television Prize and the Golden Camera.

“Tim Raue would like to encourage the restaurateurs and rekindle their passion by clearly naming errors, undercover rehearsal meals and helping them to help themselves,” announces the broadcaster. His wife and business partner Katharina Raue has the necessary know-how, especially in the field of marketing. She is the former editor-in-chief of the specialist magazine for gastronomy and hotel industry “Rolling Pin” and, according to the broadcaster, has an “excellent eye for trends in gastronomy”. The start is made by the “Stadiongaststätte” in Hülben, which has lost its most important guests, members of the local sports club.

The Raue couple are following in the footsteps of Christian Rach (65) and Steffen Henssler (50), both of whom have already traveled across Germany as “restaurant testers” for RTL. In particular, Rach connects the show with a real success story. The TV chef was on duty from 2005 to 2013 and 2017 and regularly achieved top ratings. In 2014 and 2015, the format was continued under the name “Der Restauranttester” with Steffen Henssler.

Up to seven million tuned in, especially in the first seasons. After that, quotas went down and it was finally discontinued in 2017. Rach is currently a member of the jury for “Grill den Henssler” and makes the podcast “Bosbach und Rach – Die Wochentester” together with Wolfgang Bosbach. After trips to RTL and ProSieben, Henssler is currently back in the saddle at VOX. In addition to “Grill den Henssler” he is also at the side of his cooking colleague Tim Mälzer (52) in “Mälzer und Henssler deliver!” to see.
