Soap bubbles used to have to be created manually, with the mouth or with the help of a cord. Nowadays there are various toys with built-in automation that produce large numbers of small balls – above all the bubble gun. It not only makes children’s eyes light up at larger events such as weddings or birthdays, but is also great fun in their free time. Especially in the warm summer months, the popular outdoor gadget is used a lot.

1. LED-Gun

According to the manufacturer, this bubble gun is recommended for children over the age of three. The special feature of this model is the integrated LED light. The scope of delivery already includes a ready-made soap bubble solution (2 x 50 ml), which is simply screwed into the device – and hundreds of bubbles can be fired from the pistol at the same time. The automatism is supported by batteries (3x 1.5V AA), which you have to buy separately.

2. Sets

This set contains two pistols including soap bubble liquid (two bottles). No batteries are required here, but the function remains the same: the soap bubbles are released into the air via a button that simply has to be pressed. Great fun for every child’s birthday party. If you need more bubble guns, you will also find battery-operated models from the same brand in sets of 3 here.

3. Fireman Sam

Many toddlers’ favorite character: Fireman Sam. The resident of a (fictional) Welsh town called Pontypandy became world famous through the animated series of the same name. So it is hardly surprising why there is also a colour-coordinated soap bubble gun in the same design: The model is suitable for children from the age of three and is also battery-operated. The set contains 120 milliliters of soapy water.

4. Paw Patrol

The six dogs (and the boy Ryder) from the popular children’s series “Paw Patrol” are at least as popular at the moment. The characters from the Canadian computer animation series can also be found on this bubble gun: the scope of delivery includes a special 60 milliliter bubble liquid and an immersion container. According to the manufacturer, the pistol is suitable for children between the ages of three and ten.

5. Tiermotive

Whether whale or unicorn, dinosaur or seahorse: soap bubble guns that look like animals are very popular with children. The models made of plastic usually have an ergonomic handle and are battery operated. Depending on the manufacturer, some pistols even emit a sound when the soap bubbles are produced. The selection is now so huge that there is something suitable for every taste.

Since most models come in child-friendly designs, they are primarily aimed at a young audience – although the bubble guns are also used by adults at weddings and birthdays. Nevertheless, it is advisable for parents to pay attention to a wide handle when buying (in addition to the motif) that can be easily operated by children’s hands.

Basically, battery-powered models have the advantage that more soap bubbles can be produced in a short time. Here, however, you should make sure that the compartment for the batteries is always securely closed – so that no soapy water can run into it (which certainly happens when children play with it carelessly).
