Actor Paul Geoffrey is dead, Santa Fe New Mexican first reported on June 9. The Briton died of cancer on June 3 at the age of 68.

Describing the actor, who had his greatest successes in the 1980s, the newspaper said: “He loved French wine and food, had an amazing grasp of history, was a lifelong Arsenal fan and was notable for being the cutest guy in the world.”

Geoffrey was known from films such as “Excalibur – The King’s Sword”, which was released in 1981, in which he played alongside Hollywood greats such as Helen Mirren (77) and Liam Neeson (71). The film won Best Artistic Contribution at Cannes in 1981 and received an Oscar nomination for Best Cinematography.

In addition, Geoffrey played, among other things, in the 1984 published “Greystoke – The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes” and most recently in the “Breaking Bad” spin-off “Better Call Saul”.

Geoffrey is survived by his wife Sue Taylor and three children.
