The award-winning actor Christoph Maria Herbst (57, “Stromberg”) goes on a reading tour in November. In five performances he presents the new novel “The Island of a Thousand Lighthouses” (Penguin Verlag) by the cult author, comic artist and illustrator Walter Moers (66, “The Little Asshole”).

“As a big Moers fan, I’m happy that I can be the one who takes big and small fans on the adventurous journey through the latest Moers book live on stage,” says Herbst. And Moers is also looking forward to “extremely Christoph Maria Herbst’s interpretation of Hildegunst von Mythenmetz and the ‘Island of a Thousand Lighthouses’. I’m extremely excited to see what Herbst will do with the material with his comedic talent”.

The announcement says of the new work in the bestselling series: “‘The Island of a Thousand Lighthouses’ is an illustrated epic with over 100 drawings about the selfless struggle of a conspiring community who do everything they can to save Zamonia from the apocalypse. And right in the middle the writer Hildegunst von Mythenmetz as a reluctant hero at the mercy of fate.”

It is not the first time that Christoph Maria Herbst reads from Walter Moers’ books. Four years ago he performed successfully on the stage of the German National Library as part of the birthday gala for “The 13 ½ Lives of Captain Bluebear”.

The new novel will be out in September. The tour starts on November 6th in Hamburg. On November 9th we are going to Cologne, two days later to Berlin. The performance in Stuttgart is scheduled for November 13th. planned and the final will take place on 14.11. Neu-Isenburg.
