31 stars will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year. Those responsible for the award have now announced the chosen ones. Each year, the names of deserving celebrities in six categories (film, television, music, theater, radio, sports) are immortalized on Los Angeles’ famous sidewalk.
Gal Gadot (38) is among those in the film category. Born in Israel, she became a star as the superheroine “Wonder Woman”. With Chris Pine (42), Gadot’s “Wonder Woman” co-star also receives a star. The actor also made a name for himself as Captain Kirk in the “Star Trek” cinema boats.
Among the other film stars honored are the newly crowned Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh (60), Maggie Gyllenhaal (45) and Marvel mastermind Kevin Feige (50).
Chadwick Boseman (1976-2020) posthumously receives a star on the Walk of Fame. The “Black Panther” star died in 2020 as a result of cancer. He was only 43 years old.
The field of music is also prominently occupied. Here, among others, Gwen Stefani (53), Toni Braxton (55), Dr. Dre (58) and the band Def Leppard immortalize their handprints.
The chosen ones from the other categories are less well known in this country than in film and music. In the TV sector, Eugene Levy (76) from the series “Schitt’s Creek” and the “American Pie” films should be particularly familiar in Germany. “Scandal” actress Kerry Washington (46) is also no stranger to us.
Another posthumous award is in the theater/live performance category. Singer Otis Redding, who died in 1967 at the age of 26, receives late honors.
In the sports entertainment category, which was only established in 2022, tennis legend Billie Jean King (79) is represented by a boxer who has also left his mark on the cinema: Carl Weathers (75) played Apollo Creed in various “Rocky” films.
