After a week’s stay, the Belgian ex-King Albert II was released from the hospital. He is doing well and will continue his recovery at home under the supervision of his doctors, Belgian news agency Belga reported, citing the palace.

The 89-year-old was admitted to the hospital as a precaution last Tuesday after signs of dehydration, but was reportedly responsive.

Actually, the ex-king should have been released after the weekend. Albert sat on the Belgian throne for 20 years but resigned in 2013 for health reasons. Since then, his eldest son Philippe has been at the head of the state.
