Star cast and gripping material: A good three months before the theatrical release of “Killers of the Flower Moon” a trailer gives an insight into the new work of master director Martin Scorsese. Leading actor Leonardo DiCaprio and the Apple TV and Paramount Pictures studios linked the two-minute clip on Twitter on Wednesday (local time).
“Based on a true American story,” the trailer says, tells the story of the Osage Native American people who fell victim to a major crime in Oklahoma in the 1920s. Members of their tribe were systematically murdered by white Americans after they found “black gold”, i.e. oil on their land. DiCaprio plays a man who is married to an Osage woman (Lily Gladstone) but is framed for crimes by his ruthless uncle (Robert De Niro).
The shocking western drama premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May. The three and a half hour production will be released in German cinemas on October 19 and can then be seen on Apple TV.
