One cuddled her way into the final, one sang her way into the final and one hopped her way into the final: the three finalists Lucy Diakovska, Twenty4Tim and Leyla Lahouar each competed in a test on the last day, had a last supper as a reward and then it was off to the coronation.
The moderators Sonja Zietlow and Jan Köppen paid homage to the winner: the new Queen Lucy.
This ended “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” after two exciting weeks with enormous ratings. The last episode on the Friday before the grand finale was seen by a total of 4.12 million viewers aged 3 and over (market share: 19.9 percent).
This year, viewers got two formats in one: jungle reality with dating drama. Two women fought over a man, similar to the Bachelor, only smellier. Mike Heiter and Kim Virgina unexpectedly met in the jungle. Both have a history of affairs, and Kim still had a huge need to talk. Then Leyla came around the corner and suddenly sat on Mike’s arm in the pond. Apparently without any ulterior motives. But as soon as Kim flew out of the jungle, Leyla threw herself at Mike.
In addition to this romantic story, Felix von Jascheroff showed his sergeant character traits and, especially when it came to cooking, times were rather bad for all camp inmates. Cora Schumacher gave more gas in three days than everyone put together by talking about her ex-husband Ralf and revealing an affair with Oliver Pocher. She then left the jungle camp after the short and boulevard-esque flying visit.
Heinz Hoenig sat on his four letters until Dr. Bob asked him out for health reasons (perhaps he was sore?). David Odonkor was similarly “just there”. But towards the end of his stay it became clear that the women’s bottoms in bikinis had apparently left him speechless. Former GNTM candidate Anya Elsner worked through her family history in the jungle, while Sarah Kern incited the group to rebel against the eternal Kim dating stories. Fabio Knez did the opposite at the end of the show; as soon as Sarah Kern left, the reality TV actor went about his second favorite activity after selling vacuum cleaners: setting up Leyla and Mike.
But back to the three finalists: While Leyla fumbled her way forward, almost fell in love and brought a bit of drama to the camp, Lucy, like lightning, ran for her life, always tried to do her best and was always a pleasant companion. Twenty4Tim convinced the audience with his happiness, caring and went beyond his limits. But you can say about all three: They were friendly and mostly positive, that’s what they have in common.
But there can only be one winner: Lucy took home the 100,000 euros in prize money.
