Hollywood star Cameron Diaz (51, “Crazy About Mary”) returns after a year-long break from filming and will appear in a film with Jamie Foxx (56). The streaming service Netflix announced the action comedy “Back in Action” for November 15th and posted the first images online.
“It feels so good to be back,” Diaz wrote on Instagram. Directed by Seth Gordon (“Baywatch”), Diaz and Foxx play former secret agents who traded their jobs for a quiet family life. But then the couple are exposed and drawn back into the world of espionage. It also stars Glenn Close, Kyle Chandler and Andrew Scott, among others.
The filming was overshadowed by Foxx’s illness. According to his family, the Oscar winner (“Ray”) had to be treated in a clinic last April for “medical complications.” Foxx and his family have not yet revealed the exact reason. In July 2023, he explained to his fans in an emotional video that he had “been through hell.”
Diaz was last seen in the musical adaptation “Annie” in 2014 – also together with Foxx. Then she retired from the film business. In 2015 she married Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden, daughter Raddix was born in 2019, followed by son Cardinal in March 2024.
