Pop singer Sasha thrilled the audience in Hamburg with an entertaining show about important stages in his life. At the official tour start of the stage revue “This Is My Time – Die Show” last night in the Barclays Arena, around 3,500 spectators accompanied the 52-year-old on a musical and personal journey through time.

Elegantly dressed in a white shirt and glitter jacket, Sasha walked down a show staircase in front of a huge lettering of his name. That evening he wanted to tell the whole truth about the man who made it onto the cover of Bravo magazine 17 times, the singer announced with a wink. In keeping with this, the cover photos of the girl’s heartthrob at the time appeared and, as well as children’s photos and videos of their first appearances, made people smile over the next two and a half hours.

The singer, who grew up in Westphalia and has lived in Hamburg for 20 years, initially presented songs by musical role models, such as Elvis and Falco, in changing outfits. Then it went on to his big hits like “This Is My Time” and “I Feel Lonely”. During the ballad “If You Believe”, with which he made his breakthrough in 1998, the audience sang along loudly while reminiscing. The successes as the rockabilly fictional character Dick Brave were also not to be missed. Sasha kept telling amusing stories from his life, making the audience laugh.

Eight more concerts of “This Is My Time – Die Show” (director Thomas Hermanns) will follow across Germany until May 26th. These are catch-up dates for performances postponed due to illness.
