As a child, Jenny Jürgens always felt that her famous musician father took her seriously. The 56-year-old said that on the occasion of a new music release with children’s songs by Udo Jürgens of the German Press Agency.

On September 15, the compilation “The flowers bloom everywhere the same” with 18 children’s songs by the famous Austrian musician (1934-2014) will be released. Also included are four bonus tracks. The majority of the songs had not yet been digitized and were only available second-hand, as a spokeswoman informed. The lyrics of the songs that Jürgens wrote more than 50 years ago come from the writer James Krüss.

“Udo took children seriously,” said Jenny Jürgens. “He always took John and me seriously.” She and her brother John were delighted to “re-release Papa’s legendary children’s songs after over 50 years”. Some songs dealt with political issues such as disarmament or poverty, others were “insanely funny and silly – just like dad was.”

On July 28, the first single from the compilation will be released, “Wir will travel the universe”.
