“Rehragout-Rendezvous” remains successful in the cinema: 1,408,701 visitors have so far seen the ninth case involving village police officer Franz Eberhofer (Sebastian Bezzel, 52) and his best friend Rudi Birkenberger (Simon Schwarz, 52). This makes the Bavarian crime comedy, which opened on August 10th, the most successful of the Eberhofer series to date.
This is followed by the Eberhofer case “Guglhupfgeschwader”, which had over 1.38 million visitors last year. A total of around 10.4 million viewers have seen the nine Eberhofer film adaptations in the cinema.
“Rehragout-Rendezvous” celebrated its first success in August. The film had a stronger theatrical release than the other films in the Eberhofer series. The comedy was seen by 420,000 visitors on its first weekend in cinemas, as the production company Constantin Film announced at the time.
With its box office results, “Rehragout-Rendezvous” not only set a new series record, but also had the second-best start for a German film this year. According to reports, only “Manta Manta – Second Part” attracted more viewers at the start (480,978).
Eberhofer’s grandma (Enzi Fuchs, 86) goes on strike, throwing the family into chaos. Papa Eberhofer (Eisi Gulp, 67), Franz (Sebastian Bezzel), Leopold (Gerhard Wittmann, 59) and Susi (Lisa Maria Potthoff, 45) have to look after themselves.
Village police officer Eberhofer has to deal with even more changes when his Susi temporarily takes over Niederkaltenkirchen’s town hall as deputy mayor and reduces his position to part-time so that he can look after their son in the future. Then, however, a missing person case unexpectedly develops into a complicated murder case that reunites Franz and Rudi (Simon Schwarz) as an investigator dream team.
