Cathy Hummels (35) will no longer show her son Ludwig (5) on Instagram. She explained why she decided against it in a “letter” to her followers on Saturday, which she published on Instagram along with a breastfeeding photo from her postpartum bed.

“Why did we decide to stop showing Ludwig’s face on Instagram? The main reason is actually that I realized how difficult it was

She has always been extroverted and wants to take other people along and motivate them – that is her personality, says Cathy Hummels about herself. But “just because I like to present doesn’t mean that my son has the same hobby,” she now knows.

The loving post also makes it clear that it is difficult for her to no longer show his beautiful face with that enchanting and contagious smile, those big, nut-brown bright eyes and that beautiful button nose. And still: “From now on he will no longer be shown on Instagram until he can consciously decide what he wants to reveal about himself

She ends her post with a general warning to all parents: “Children don’t belong on social media and we as parents have responsibility for them. We have to protect our children and not put them on display in front of ‘strangers’ people. Because one thing is clear – How would we feel if intimate moments from our childhood could be found online today?”

Ludwig comes from the marriage of Cathy and Mats Hummels (34). After many years of relationship, the two tied the knot in 2015 and divorced in 2022. Ludwig didn’t show it in the first four years of his life, but at the beginning of July 2022 it was published in a post. “I’m showing Ludwig in this photo because he was here at an official appointment or I was with him,” she explained her move at the time.
