Musician Pete Doherty (44) and his band The Libertines have announced a new album for the first time in years. “All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade” is scheduled to be released on March 8, 2024, as Doherty and the band announced on Instagram. When released, it will be the first studio album in nine years, when “Anthems for Doomed Youth” (2015) was released.

The album title is intended to be reminiscent of Erich Maria Remarque’s anti-war novel “All Quiet on the Western Front” – and the address of the band’s studio and hotel in the English coastal town of Margate, as reported by the PA news agency. The new single “Run Run Run” has just been released.

Doherty, who is also the singer of the indie band Babyshambles and makes music elsewhere, has been in the headlines for drugs and alcohol in the past. Model Kate Moss’ ex-boyfriend also works as a painter. Two years ago he exhibited his works of art in a retrospective in Berlin.
