The entertainers Joko and Klaas gave up their hard-earned 15 minutes of broadcast time on ProSieben on Wednesday evening. The two want to save the screen time, which they can use as they wish, so that next time they can “put on a big 15-minute spectacle,” as Joko explained.
“We want to make something clear right now,” said Klaas live on prime time. And later: “We’re actually just making a very short announcement here about why there won’t be these 15 minutes. We need the time for something else.”
Joko explained: “We planned such a big 15-minute spectacle. We prepared for it for months and wanted to have more time from the broadcaster for the ’15 minutes’. Then they said: ‘No, sorry, it’s not. 15 minutes is 15 minutes. The most we can say is: You do less 15 minutes one time and more 15 minutes the other time.'”
Klaas continued: “We agreed and said: ‘Okay, then we’ll make a short announcement. After that, the ProSieben program will start as normal.’ And then – the season has already been recorded – we will probably have the opportunity to use 15 minutes again and then get these 15 minutes in addition (…).”
Joko and Klaas regularly compete against their employer on “Joko and Klaas against ProSieben”. If they win the show on Tuesday evening, they can do whatever they want for 15 minutes live on prime time television the day after.
