The patio of the Diputación de Palencia has hosted this morning the presentation of the posters of the San Antolín Bullfighting Fair 2022, which schedules four bullfights, one rejones and a practical class between August 30 and September 4. The act has had the intervention of the deputy Carolina Valbuena, the businessmen Carlos Zúñiga and Víctor Zabala, and the president of the Diputación Ángeles Armisén.

On August 30, a practical class will be held for four students from the Palencia Bullfighting School.

On August 31, Antonio Ferrera, Paco Ureña and Daniel Luque will fight bulls of Adolfo Martín.

On September 1, the Goyesca event will be held in homage to the Palencia bullfighter Marcos de Celis with Morante de la Puebla, Daniel Luque and Roca Rey, who will fight bulls with the Núñez del Cuvillo badge.

On September 2, El Juli, José María Manzanares and Tomás Rufo will fight bulls from the Montalvo ranch.

On September 3, El Juli, Miguel Ángel Perera and Alejandro Talavante will fight those from Torrealta.

Finally, on September 4 bullfighters Joao R. Telles, Lea Vicens and Guillermo Hermoso de Mendoza will do the walk to deal with David Ribeiro Telles’ bulls.

“This poster is a more than sure bet in a city and province with a long bullfighting tradition, a lover of the Fiesta, a bet for the people of Palencia who are offered the possibility of enjoying the greatest figures of bullfighting,” said Angeles. Armisén, president of the Diputación. The president of the Diputación has remarked that this great Fair “is in line with what the Diputación de Palencia has been doing in recent years.” “We want all Palencians to have the opportunity to enjoy this unique show that connects with our most beautiful traditions,” she concluded.

In their speech, the businessmen Carlos Zúñiga and Víctor Zabala have highlighted the great bet made on their arrival in Palencia. “There are posters for all tastes and an aggressive price reduction policy,” explained Carlos Zúñiga. “This is everyone’s fair, it is a source of pride for the province and the city, and a national reference”, Víctor Zabala remarked.

The poster for the Fair is the work of Iván Estupiñá and pays homage to the bullfighter from Palencia Marcos de Celis on the 90th anniversary of his birth.
