Ozzy Osbourne is turning his back on the United States. The “Prince of Darkness” wants to move back to his native England with his wife Sharon. The musician revealed this in an interview with the “Observer”. In the US, “everything is bloody ridiculous,” Osbourne said. “I’m fed up with people being killed every day. God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. (…) It’s totally crazy.”
He also adds that he “doesn’t want to die in America”. “I don’t want to be buried on the damn Forest Lawn.” There are numerous graves of prominent personalities at the cemetery in Los Angeles – Osbourne apparently does not want to be one of them. “I’m English,” he emphasizes. “I want to go back [to there]. (…) It’s just time for me to come home.”
The move is due early next year: In February, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne plan to move back to their 120-year-old property in Buckinghamshire. The couple bought the listed Welders House with its approximately 140 hectares of land in 1993. Before the move, a swimming pool and a recording studio are to be built there and air conditioning installed. For this, the two leave their villa in Los Angeles – according to “Observer” it is already for sale.
In an interview, wife Sharon emphasizes that the planned move has nothing to do with Ozzy Osbourne’s health. “I knew people would think that, but it’s not.” Rather, it is “simply about time”. “America has changed so drastically. It’s not the United States of America anymore,” she explains.
In 2003, the singer suffered an accident with a quad vehicle at his English country estate. Since then he has suffered from serious health problems in the neck area, which led to several operations. Osbourne also announced in early January 2020 that he had Parkinson’s disease. In April 2022 he also had to survive a corona infection.
The release of his new 13th solo album “Patient Number 9” is planned for September 9th. More music doesn’t seem out of the question: according to the Observer, he is having the recording studio built in England “so that he can make more music”.
