Actor Holger Matthias Wilhelm is back on the television series “Dahoam is Dahoam” after a two and a half year break – and has explained the secret of his sudden departure. The 47-year-old told the Bayerischer Rundfunk web portal that he had to fight against serious cancer.

Since July 2021, he has experienced an endless series of grueling therapies, Wilhelm recalled: “They were hard months, but with the support of my family, my friends and a great medical and nursing team at the Regensburg Hospital of the Brothers of Mercy, I have fought the battle against it Leukemia mastered. It is a great pleasure for me to return to “Dahoam is Dahoam” after such a long time and to take up the role of Gregor Brunner again.”

Bayerischer Rundfunk’s early evening series “Dahoam is Dahoam” has been on the air for 16 years, and so far more than 3,200 episodes have been broadcast. According to the BR, an average of 443,000 people across Bavaria tune in to the stories from the fictional television village of Lansing, and nationwide there are more than 660,000.
