After the Emerald Night Express (2018) and the iconic Crocodile (2020), Lego is continuing its series of legendary trains in December 2023. Since December 1st The Lego Ideas 21344 Orient Express is available in stores. Or better: First of all, it is available exclusively in Lego stores and in the Lego online shop. In three months there could also be a green light for selected retailers. Only then should the proud price of just under 300 euros fall at least somewhat. If you want to fulfill your dream of the Orient Express before Christmas, you will receive a box with 2,540 pieces, divided into 23 bags (unfortunately still made of plastic). The train, which has countless legends surrounding it, consists of the locomotive and two trailers. You eat in one and sleep in the other. The finished model is 115 centimeters long in an elegant dark blue. There are eight minifigures on board. Including, of course, the train driver, a conductor and the waiter who serves the guests in the on-board restaurant. Travelers include a wealthy countess, a scientist and a film director.
The Lego mini plants, which have also been on sale since December and are already available at small discounts, are more suitable for the windowsill than for the display case. For less than 50 euros, you end up with nine potted plants of different sizes in the window. Included: a carnivorous plant, two cacti and other beauties that are native to desert regions. Each plant is in a small terracotta-colored pot.

For all fans of Lego Modulars, the Danes are launching another large set for adults at the end of the year. With more than 4,000 parts, the Lego Natural History Museum is the building with the most parts in the “Building with Modules” series to date. Fans should also create some space in their Lego City, because the museum measures almost 40 centimeters wide and is just over 30 centimeters high. The seven minifigures and the dog can admire, among other things, scientific exhibits from astronomy and ancient artifacts in the exhibition rooms. The skeleton of a Brachiosaurus protrudes from the atrium to the upper floor.

There are currently 18 LEGO stores in Germany. The last and now largest shop opened its doors in downtown Munich at the beginning of October 2022. Nevertheless, game fans big and small scour the online shops of the big chains every day. But the most popular sets there are often sold out within days and some fans are seriously disappointed.
