The basic idea of being inspired by the decorated Christmas tree and festive decorations for the Christmas look is not new: Glitter dresses and sequins have long been popular components of the Christmas look. But this year we can take it all to the extreme and visually remind us of the Christmas tree and really dress up.
So this Christmas we can traditionally go for red and green – and even in combination. The complementary colors reinforce each other’s effect when they are combined. But you should be careful with the color intensity: it is better to use more muted red and green tones, for example in a very dark form or from a material that softens the color such as velvet. So the whole thing still looks elegant and still reminds of the Christmas tree. Or you can grab a dark green jumpsuit and spice it up with chic red pumps and a matching bag. And: A red or green knit dress is great for everyday wear even after the holidays.
Of course, it can also glitter: This year, sequins and glitter are welcome at Christmas. A sequined top with matching skirt or trousers or a maxi dress in gold are just right for the party. But restraint is not the order of the day this year. We can go all out and also shine with accessories. But it should always be stylish: a high-necked golden maxi dress with an elegant hairstyle and hair clip or a red jumpsuit with shiny details are great looks for Christmas – and will definitely be remembered by the family. And: A glittering dress, one with sequins or a metallic look can also be combined a few days later for New Year’s Eve.
All in all, we can really dress up for the Christmas holidays and incorporate Christmas traditions into the look. Puffed sleeves or blouses with ties are also great for a festive look.
This also applies to men: Red and green are welcome to be found in the look. A dark red shirt with black suit pants and dark green, flashing socks make the look more exciting, also reminiscent of a Christmas tree and yet do not ruin the festive overall picture. So dress up for your loved ones this year and get in the spirit of Christmas with a festive outfit.
