Tina Turner mourns the loss of her son. Ronald “Ronnie” Renelle Turner has died at the age of 62, apparently after a serious illness. The singer now spoke on Instagram: “Ronnie, you left the world far too soon. In sorrow, I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son.” She also posted a black and white photo showing her with her eyes closed. In the comments, numerous fans and friends express their sympathy.

Earlier, Ronnie’s wife, musician Afida Turner, also announced her husband’s death in an Instagram post. Alongside a photo of her with Ronnie and Tina Turner, she wrote that she did her best to the end but couldn’t save it. According to media reports, she had taken care of Ronnie, who had repeatedly struggled with health problems in recent years. “I’ve loved you for 17 years. It’s very bad. I’m very angry,” said Afida Turner.

She called her husband’s death a tragedy. With Ronnie, a “true angel” and a “great soul” passed away. He is now reunited with his brother Craig and father Ike Turner: “Rest in peace,” said Afida Turner. She also shared more photos of her late husband, with whom she had been married since 2007. According to US media reports, Ronnie was found unconscious. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. Nothing is known about the cause of death so far.

It’s not the first loss for Tina Turner. In 2018 she mourned the death of son Craig Turner. He took his own life in Los Angeles at the age of 59. Turner was just 18 when Craig was born. The father was saxophonist Raymond Hill, who performed with Ike Turner’s band Kings of Rhythm.

Craig was adopted by Ike Turner after he and Tina Turner married in 1962. Together, the two then had son Ronnie Turner. Tina Turner adopted Ike Turner’s two sons from a previous relationship. The marriage was divorced in 1978. Ike Turner died of a cocaine overdose in 2007. The singer lives in Switzerland with her second husband, German music manager Erwin Bach.
