The fantasy series “Willow”, which started at the end of last year, is not getting a second season from Disney. As “Deadline” reports, the series sequel to the legendary 1988 fantasy film of the same name from the Disney and Lucasfilm streaming service has already been discontinued after the premiere edition. Nothing is currently known about the reasons for the end of the series.

In “Willow” leading actor Warwick Davis (53) once again slipped into his most famous role of the magician Willow Ufgood. Approximately 16 years after the action of the original film, a new group of heroes led by returnee Willow embark on a perilous journey that will take them far beyond their usual homeland. The aim of the group of heroes is nothing less than to save the entire world.

Joining Davis for Willow are Ruby Cruz, Erin Kellyman, Ellie Bamber, Tony Revolori, Amar Chadha-Patel, Dempsey Bryk and Joanne Whalley. Jonathan Kasdan (43) acted as series creator and showrunner. The story idea for the original film “Willow” with Davis and Val Kilmer (63) came from “Star Wars” creator George Lucas (78).
