A small mix-up of names, dream ratings and prominent guests like Helene Fischer, Cher or Take That: The last “Wetten,dass..?” edition with Thomas Gottschalk is history – and German celebrities are remembering it with moving social media posts outgoing show legend.
Comedian Oliver Pocher obviously watched Gottschalk’s “Wetten, dass…?” farewell with his children on the sofa at home. “I sat in front of the TV with my children (and there are a few of them) one last time and we watched you,” writes Amira Pocher’s husband on Instagram.
He confirms presenter legend Gottschalk: “Your career and TV moments were unique and I hope there will be a few more to come.” In his opinion, Gottschalk’s last edition of “Wetten,dass..?” marked the end of “a piece of television history”. “You were one of my inspiration[s] for my TV career.”
The praised Gottschalk responded promptly to these warm-hearted lines. “Olli, thank you! By your standards, that’s very serious and honest,” he writes under Pocher’s post, and also mentions that he was happy about “most of the comments.”
Also actress Veronica Ferres, who says she appeared on “Wetten,dass…?” nine times. was a guest, had warm words for Thomas Gottschalk. She had “always had a lot of fun” on ZDF’s Saturday evening show, and now “an era” would come to an end, the 58-year-old said on Instagram.
Reality star Evelyn Burdecki shared her thoughts on the end of the show. “You were and you are a legend of German television,” she wrote to Gottschalk on Instagram. The 35-year-old shares a photo that shows her with the entertainer and his partner Karina Mroß.
