Since last fall and the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Charles has been king. His long-held title of Prince of Wales was inherited by the heir to the throne, Prince William, and with him a cottage in the surrounding area.
The Llwynywermod Cottage, which is idyllically situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacon National Park, served as a retreat for the king. He mourned the loss of his late father Prince Philip here and enjoyed spending a week or two in the peaceful little town every summer. This should be over now.
The new Prince of Wales, William, is said to have asked his father to vacate the house. In the future, the house will no longer serve as a royal residence, but will be rented out as a holiday apartment. The 41-year-old’s plan is to use this step to strengthen the area touristically, because many Royal fans would like to sleep a night like the royal role models. But not in King Charles III. bed – he is said to have been asked by his son to have his furniture collected.
If the King of England, whose lease on Llwynywermod Cottage has been cancelled, wishes to holiday there in the future, he will have to pay rent like any other guest. According to the Mail on Sunday, the eviction of the house is said to have angered the king.
Charles himself bought the little cottage for £1.2million in 2007 after a long search. He then had it rebuilt and renovated to suit his needs. The environmentally friendly Charles had vegetables planted in the garden, heated with a wood chip boiler and collected rainwater in rain barrels to irrigate the garden.
So far, King Charles III paid. the maintenance of the white cottage in Wales, in the future the three-bedroom house with a barbecue in the garden will be rented out for around 2700 euros a week. It’s supposed to start in September. Three nearby plots of land that also belong to the duchy are already being let.
