For a long time it was not clear whether the liaison between Taylor Swift and football star Travis Kelce was a PR joke. For some skeptics, the public display of affection seemed too staged. However, anyone who knows Swift in particular knows that she has proudly presented her new relationships to the public in the past. Since this weekend at the latest it has been clear that the two are actually a couple.
Kelce used his break from football to travel to Argentina for Swift. In Buenos Aires, the musician performed in front of thousands of fans – and in the VIP tent, Kelce listened excitedly alongside Swift’s father. Swift caused complete ecstasy when she quickly changed a line from her mega hit “Karma”.
She turned “Karma is the guy on the screen, coming straight home to me” into “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me.” Kelce plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, and Swift has watched several of his team’s games live in the past few weeks.
But that’s not enough proof of love. After the singer said goodbye to her fans to thunderous applause, she ran straight to Kelce, who met her at the edge of the stage and kissed her enthusiastically. The scene can be seen in several fan recordings. However, the couple doesn’t stay in South America for long. Kelce’s team will train on Monday, and he will have to be back in the USA by then.
Since the summer, the NFL superstar has discussed his soft spot for Swift. On his podcast New Heights, he spoke with his brother Jason Kelce (who is also a football player) about attending a Swift concert. “I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her performances because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs she sings,” he said in late July. Kelce said he was a little hurt because he “couldn’t give her one of the bracelets I made for her.” He kept mentioning her in short social media clips and interviews until Swift actually showed up at one of his games, fueling the rumor mill itself.
