After her success with the hit series “Ted Lasso”, Juno Temple (33) may have another big project. The British actress is said to be in negotiations for one of the main roles in “Venom 3”, as the industry portal “Deadline” reports. Spokespersons from Sony and Temple have so far not wanted to comment on the report when asked.
Her colleague Tom Hardy (45) is said to be returning as the eponymous antihero and Spider-Man archenemy Venom/Eddie Brock. About a year ago it was announced for the first time that a third “Venom” part should be shot. The first strip was released in cinemas in 2018, with the sequel “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” following in 2021. Both films are part of Sony’s Spider-Man universe. They didn’t exactly impress critics, but together they grossed around 1.36 billion US dollars at the box office worldwide.
It is not yet known who could return alongside Hardy and what role Temple will play. There are also no details about the plot yet. However, Kelly Marcel (49) should sit in the director’s chair. She would follow Ruben Fleischer (48, “Venom”) and “The Lord of the Rings” star Andy Serkis (59), who directed the second part. The Briton was already jointly responsible for the two screenplays of the predecessors. She is also said to be producing the new film alongside Hardy. Marcel is also set to write the script for Venom 3, based on a story she and Hardy wrote.
Temple can currently be seen again in “Ted Lasso” – in the role of Keeley. The streaming service Apple TV is currently showing the third season of the successful series, which could also be the last. Main actor Jason Sudeikis (47), who also developed the character, said at least in March that the story he wanted to tell about the likeable football coach was completed with season three. But you have also created the conditions for further stories around some of the characters. It is currently unknown whether the series could continue without Coach Lasso or whether there will be spin-offs.
