Madonna certainly imagined her latest appearance differently. At the weekend, the “Queen of Pop” played a concert in Seattle as part of her current “The Celebration Tour”, but it didn’t go entirely smoothly. Because Madonna fell in the middle of the stage during her performance of the song “Open Your Heart”.
In a video available to the US celebrity portal “TMZ”, you can see the singer performing her hit with stage dancers. She used a chair as a stage prop – and this, of all things, was her downfall. One of the dancers pulled the chair Madonna was sitting on in a choreographed movement and tilted it slightly backwards. But the man apparently couldn’t keep his balance and fell to the ground – along with the chair and the singing “Queen of Pop” on it. The audience groaned.
But true professional Madonna, despite the unplanned position on her back, simply carried on, sang into her microphone and quickly stood on both feet again. The singer brought the song, chair dance performance and ultimately the entire concert to an end as if nothing had happened.
The next appearances on their US tour are coming up in just a few days. This week, Madonna is playing in Vancouver, Sacramento and San Francisco before appearing in Las Vegas and Los Angeles at the beginning of March.
