An unusual duet that is more than well received: veteran Udo Lindenberg (76) and rapper Apache 207 (25) released the song “Komet” together in mid-January. Two weeks later, the collaboration is number one in the German single charts – for Lindenberg it is the first top position in his more than 50-year career.

“Wow, Leude, the first time in my life with a song numero uno in the singles!” Said the 76-year-old in a press release. Even with his best-known songs, such as “Sonderzug nach Pankow” (1983) or “Cello” (2011), he has not yet succeeded in doing so. Lindenberg was able to secure first place in the album charts with the albums “Stark wie Zwei” (2008), “Stärker als die Zeit” (2016) and two “MTV Unplugged” albums.

Apache 207, on the other hand, has jumped to the top of the single charts with a total of nine songs since 2018, including “Roller” (2019). His first studio album “Treppenhaus” (2020) also went straight to number one in the album charts.
