A reunion with many old friends: The Disney Channel is celebrating a big birthday party. The occasion is the 100th anniversary of the American Walt Disney Company this October. To kick off the celebrations, which will last until autumn, the station will be broadcasting “Favorite Movies Day” this Saturday from 7.30 a.m. with lots of classics for the family – all day long.
It starts with the cartoon “Micky, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers” (2004). The three friends would like to be real musketeers. But her boss Carlo exploits her with lousy jobs. But the villain then goes too far when he takes the beautiful Minnie into his power. And already brave three heroes turn out to be.
The animated film “Winnie the Pooh” (2011) follows at 8.40 a.m. Christopher Robin has disappeared without a trace. Winnie the Pooh and his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood quickly realize that the boy must have been kidnapped.
The animated film “Cars” (2006) then really accelerates from 9.40 a.m. Probably the most beautiful version of “Robin Hood”, a cartoon from 1973, follows at 11.35 a.m. At 1:05 p.m., a more than 80-year-old classic can be seen: Kitz “Bambi” has to learn to stand on its own two feet. The animated film “101 Dalmatians” (1961) by animation genius Wolfgang Reitherman about the adventures of a huge group of puppies (from 2.20 p.m.) also comes from deep in the treasure chest.
From 3:50 p.m., deep in the jungle, the title hero of “Tarzan” (1999) swings from liana to liana. At 5:15 p.m., things will remain tropical with the feel-good film “The Jungle Book” (1967), in which the human boy Mowgli gets to know the easy side of life through the cheerful bear Baloo. The two-time Oscar-winning film “The Lion King” (6.45 p.m.) should not be missing. The day will be rounded off with the underwater Pixar spectacle “Finding Nemo” (8:15 p.m.) and the feature film “Saving Mr. Banks” (10:10 p.m.). The comedy tells the story of how Walt Disney (played by Tom Hanks) would do anything to make his daughters’ favorite novel into a movie.
This is far from the end of the TV party. The music continues on July 22nd with “High School Hits”, including the first and second parts of “Camp Rock”. On August 12th there will be a “Big Day for Little Heroes” especially for all preschool children, for example with “Spidey and His Super Friends”.
