She took her time for her statement. Lizzo has now commented on Instagram for the first time about the allegations of her three former dancers – and she defends herself. (Read more about the allegations here.)

“The last few days have been extremely difficult and an overwhelming disappointment,” she writes. “I don’t normally respond to false accusations, but these are as incredible as they sound and too outrageous not to be addressed,” said the Grammy winner. She is always passionate about her work and takes her performances very seriously. With passion comes hard work and high standards, Lizzo says, but she never intends to hurt employees or make them feel unappreciated.

“I’m not here to be seen as a victim, but I also know that I’m not the villain that people and the media have been portraying me as for the past few days,” she said. She also addresses allegations of sexual harassment. In this regard, the allegations by her dancers relate to an incident that took place in February of this year.

At that time they were there when Lizzo took her crew on a trip to Amsterdam’s red light district. “Things quickly got out of hand. Lizzo would have the performers take turns touching the nude performers, catching dildos that were being shot out of the performers’ vaginas, and eating bananas that were sticking out of the performers’ vaginas,” it reads in the complaint, quoted from Page Six.

Allegations that Lizzo apparently does not accept. “I’m very open about my sexuality and expressing myself, but I can’t accept or allow people to use that openness to make me something I’m not,” she said in her statement. She also denies allegations that she insulted dancers because of their weight. “I know what it feels like to be ashamed of your body on a daily basis and I would never criticize or fire an employee for their weight,” she said.

In the comments under your post, various users express doubts. “It would be one thing if it was just one or two people, but now some other women have come forward and said they have been abused,” criticized one of them.
