“Beverly Hills, 90210” star Tori Spelling (50) clarifies why she and Dean McDermott (57) slept in separate bedrooms for three years before their separation. Her husband had previously made headlines with his claim that a pig sleeping in her bed had driven him away.

“In her podcast “MisSPELLING”, the actress describes her point of view. According to “his wish”, they slept in different bedrooms for three years, but it wasn’t because of an animal. “He said in an interview that he slept because of one Pig no longer slept in bed. That’s not true,” Spelling stressed. Although the couple actually had a pig, she explained that the animal only slept with them for a day when it was very small. “I just followed the advice that it was the cuddle “I was used to it and it took a few nights,” she continued. “But then when the pig peed in the bed between us, he said, ‘The pig is leaving the bed.’ And I said, ‘Got it.’ And that was the only night the pig was in bed.”

Rather, the actress revealed that the television probably drove McDermott into his own room. He was bothered by the fact that she liked to fall asleep with the television on. However, she can easily distract herself while watching television. “I was able to just switch off and be entertained.” Her father, the famous television producer Aaron Spelling (1923-2006), already knew this. He always said: “People have hard days, hard work, hard lives, hard relationships, and everything is individual. And when they come home, they just want to switch off, be entertained and taken out of their world.”

The couple’s separation became known in August 2023. Then in November, McDermott told Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper that they had “been having problems for some time,” but “it just got worse because we weren’t sleeping in the same room anymore.” The Canadian actor claimed in the interview that her sleeping habits changed when Spelling brought animals – including a pig and several dogs – into her bedroom. The actor also said that there was a chicken living in her bathroom.

At the end of March 2024, US media reported that Tori Spelling had filed for divorce after 18 years of marriage. In the court documents, the actress cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their separation, which is said to have taken place on June 17, 2023. The two actors met while filming the TV film “Mind Over Murder”. McDermott and Spelling tied the knot in May 2006, had five children and lived together in a villa in Los Angeles until their separation.
