Winter is here and with it the cold. If you don’t want to do without dresses and skirts despite the freezing temperatures, you can keep your legs warm with tights. Colorful and patterned models are particularly trendy, which turn even the simplest outfit into a fashionable eye-catcher in no time at all.

Black nylon tights with small patterns such as dots, hearts or logos are best suited to get a feel for the trend. Influencer Marianne Theodorsen (40) has opted for a black dotted variant. She wears a matching short dress with white polka dots. If you prefer a more reduced aesthetic, choose a plain-colored dress instead. A combination that – depending on the skirt length – works just as well in the evening as during the day in the office.

Colorful tights are less suitable for the office, but all the more popular. Actress and singer Zendaya (26) demonstrates it in the trend color hot pink. She completes her monochrome look with a mini dress, platform ankle boots and gloves. If you don’t have the courage for gaudy styling à la Valentino, colored tights can also enhance an outfit that is otherwise simple. The Kunert label, for example, presents its green tights with a beige dress.

Pernille Teisbæk (38) has a hot tip for all frostbite: complement nylon tights with over-the-knee stockings made of wool or cashmere. Keeps you warm and looks stylish at the same time, as the fashion expert proves on her Instagram channel. In addition to the tank top, the leather jacket and the midi skirt, the slingback pumps are particularly eye-catching. Thanks to wool stockings, they don’t need to spend the winter in the shoe closet. In its autumn/winter collection, Chanel shows how versatile the combination is. The tweed and checked fabrics typical of the fashion house should not be missing. In rain and snow, rubber boots replace pumps.

Anyone who is not enthusiastic about trousers made of wool should pay attention to the thread size when buying nylon tights. It is given in deniers (abbreviated: DEN). At least 60 DEN is recommended in winter. The higher the value, the firmer, warmer and more durable the tights.

Freezing will further extend their lifespan. Put the wet tights in a bag and put them in the freezer overnight. The cold causes the nylon fibers to contract and become more stable.

However, care should be taken when caring for it. Tights should not be washed warmer than 40 degrees and then air dried. Laundry bags protect against friction. If holes or runs do form, these should be sealed with clear nail polish or hairspray as quickly as possible.
