“The Voice Rap” will be launched as a new “The Voice” spin-off in the fall. The best rap talent can move into the semi-finals of the regular season “The Voice of Germany” and thus has a chance of winning the 13th edition of the music show. Two coaches will take care of the candidates in the new format.
On the one hand, Kool Savas (48) will pass on his experience. “I think it’s great that there is now ‘The Voice Rap’ and that I can be one of the two coaches is a huge thing for me,” he explains in a statement. “I always said to my wife: If I ever do a TV show, it should be ‘The Voice’! We are big fans and always watch the show.”
On the other hand, Dardan (25), German rapper from Stuttgart, who is also known under the pseudonym Mister Dardy, will sit on one of the red chairs. “‘The Voice’ understood that rap is the voice of youth,” says the newly announced coach. “The Voice Rap by Cupra” now offers a unique platform “for young, fresh talent who represent and advance our culture”.
The two rap coaches put together a team in the blind auditions. A winner emerges from the battles. Filming for “The Voice Rap” begins in late July. In autumn, the episodes will then be shown for eight weeks parallel to the ProSieben broadcast of “The Voice of Germany” on TV and a week before on Joyn. Nothing is known about the exact slot.
A new era is also dawning in the new “The Voice” season: With Shirin David (28), Ronan Keating (46), Giovanni Zarrella (45) and Bill and Tom Kaulitz (both 33), there are five stars in the 13th season “The Voice of Germany” relay for the first time on the buzzer in front of the red chair. ProSieben and Sat.1 will alternately show the new season from autumn 2023.
