Since it has been decided which stars will follow in the footsteps of Peter Maffay, Stefanie Kloß, Mark Forster and Rea Garvey as new “The Voice of Germany” coaches, fans of the casting format have been eagerly awaiting the start of the 13th season, which Autumn 2023 was announced.

This year the jury is made up of five coaches, all of whom have show and casting experience. In addition to the “Tokio Hotel” brothers Bill and Tom Kaulitz, the Irish singer Ronan Keating, rapper Shirin David and Giovanni Zarrella will take a seat on the format’s red jury chairs in the 13th season.

Bill and Tom Kaulitz were already on the jury of the casting show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” in 2013, and in 2017 Shirin David also took a place as a “DSDS” juror. Giovanni Zarrella himself became known as part of the band Bro’Sis and is now the presenter of his own ZDF program “Die Giovanni Zarrella Show”. And “When You Say Nothing At All” singer Ronan Keating has previously appeared as a judge on the Australian version of “The X Factor” and “The Voice” and in the UK on “The Voice Kids”.

But this year’s season will also be a new challenge for the experienced coaches. The “image” wants to know about a rule change that turns everything upside down for the coaches and the candidates.

Because from now on, the coaches should be able to “block” each other during a performance. If a team is so confident in a talent that they want it on their team, it can prevent the other coaches from turning their backs as well. However, this also means that the candidate cannot choose the blocked juror, he says “blocked”.

It should be exciting and entertaining, especially for the viewers. Because the new rule will probably stir up the coaches quite a bit if several people are enthusiastic about a talent.
