The Government of Andalusia, a coalition of the PP and Citizens with the support of Vox, has created a line of grants for the inventory, conservation and restoration of heritage sacrum. The novelty of this measure is addressed to all the religious confessions, and is not limited to the catholic church. “The possible beneficiaries of the aid will be the groups registered in the Registry of Religious Entities of the Ministry of Justice to have the movable property of the historical heritage of a religious nature in Andalusia, not limited to any religious confession in particular”, announced the minister of Culture and Heritage Patricia del Pozo.

“What we approved on the 18th of December are the regulatory bases of these grants, something totally new without equivalent in other autonomous communities because the aid will be granted in regime of competitive concurrence. Interested parties must submit a technical project that will assess a commission of the ministry of Culture and will be subsidized up to 80% of the budget of each activity,” explained Macarena O’neill, secretary-general of the Cultural Heritage of the Junta de Andalucía. “In the second half of January we will organize technical sessions in all the provinces to explain to the stakeholders how to perform a project, which will be presented all telematically. The order will go out in early February and is directed to the movable heritage (paintings, sculpture, drawings, prints, retablos, textiles, metalwork, ceramics…) to the documents and bibliographic heritage,” said O’neill.
