And again there are two less: For Lydwine and Lucas the casting show “Germany’s Next Top Model” is over. In the twelfth episode broadcast on ProSieben yesterday, the 21-year-old student from Lemgo and the 24-year-old actor from Norderstedt received no photos and had to break up their tents in the luxury penthouse in Los Angeles. If the candidates progress, they will always receive a photo of themselves after the challenges.
Lydwine posed at the end of the catwalk when she wasn’t supposed to and was the only one who played around with her costume during the fitting – which the judges didn’t like either. She accepted her exit with composure and smiled – the other candidates shed tears. “It was fun,” was her conclusion. Lucas was too stiff and intellectual for the jury. He expressed his gratitude for his time on the show. “I think you’re great, I’ll really miss you too,” said show boss Heidi Klum.
The models had to perform in three fashion shows. “All good things come in threes,” said Heidi Klum at the beginning of the show. The men wore looks by US designer Ashton Michael, the women by Swiss designer Kevin Germanier. At the end everyone had to walk in outfits by Berlin designer Esther Perbandt. The designer trio formed the jury with Heidi Klum.
Perbandt made it particularly difficult for the candidates: the models had to slowly go up the 50-meter-long catwalk and then quickly go back down – which sometimes worked more, sometimes less well. The next challenge is already waiting: In the next episode, the remaining 16 models will have to prove their acting talent next Thursday.
