For actor Hardy Krueger jr. the role as chief prosecutor in the ARD telenovela “Rote Rosen” is a challenge. “I’ve played lawyers before, but not yet a role like that,” said the 54-year-old on the sidelines of a photo shoot on Monday.

Krüger’s name in his new role is Ralf Sobotta and, according to the script, he will return to his hometown of Lüneburg. In the Hanseatic city, Sobotta meets his childhood friend Mathias (Makke Schneider). The shooting will take place from December 5th to probably July, the episodes of the 21st season can probably be seen from mid-February.

Krüger only knows Lüneburg briefly from an engagement at the theater. He wants to prepare and take care of himself in a trailer on the set. “I’m a touring kid, so it’s a piece of home for me,” he said. He pays attention to his diet, cooks and bakes himself in the mobile wagon.

“Rote Rosen” is set in Lüneburg, shooting of the first episodes started in 2006. The series runs from Monday to Friday on the first (2:10 p.m.).
