Taylor Swift (34) continues to ride the wave of success. After setting numerous records in the past few months, there are now two more all-time records in Germany. As a special evaluation by GfK Entertainment, which also determines the Official German Charts, has shown that the mega star is apparently unstoppable when it comes to streaming.
Swift’s new record “The Tortured Poets Department” had the most successful streaming launch ever in Germany last Friday with a total of around 11.5 million views. To date, no other album has been streamed so frequently on its release day.
In addition, no artist has ever been able to record so many stream views on one release day. In the first 24 hours there were around 14.4 million for Taylor Swift. The singer will probably conquer the weekly throne in the charts published on Friday. After “Midnights” and “1989 (Taylor’s Version)”, “The Tortured Poets Department” is expected to be the singer’s third number one album in Germany, according to a GfK statement.
It was recently announced that Swift had also broken a record with the record on the popular music streaming service Spotify. Spotify announced on April 20 that “The Tortured Poets Department” was the first album in the provider’s history to reach more than 300 million streams in just one day.
