“Tatort: Game Over” pulled off a feat on Sunday (May 21): 8.72 million viewers watched the latest Munich case. At first glance, that might not sound like a record. But because generally fewer people sat in front of the television on Sundays, the market share of the total audience for this Sunday thriller was an impressive 32.4 percent. Only the “Tatort: MagicMom” from Münster, which was broadcast in the first of March at the beginning of March, was able to achieve an even higher value in the current year.

“‘Game Over’ is the most successful Munich case in the last ten years,” commented Bayerischer Rundfunk. “For the second time this year, the Munich team was able to break the 30 percent mark,” the statement said. This value was also skipped in March for “Tatort: Hackl”.

The next two cases for the team around commissioners Ivo Batic (Miroslav Nemec, 68), Franz Leitmayr (Udo Wachtveitl, 64) and Kalli Hammermann (Ferdinand Hofer, 30) from Munich have already been turned off. The broadcast of “Tatort: Queens” with Veronica Ferres (57) and Wolfgang Fierek (72), among others, is scheduled for autumn 2023, “Tatort: Das Wunderkind” is planned for 2024.
