Sylvie Meis (44) and Niclas Castello (44) go their separate ways. “It is with a heavy heart that we announce that we have decided together to separate,” the couple told the “Bild” newspaper. For the presenter it is the second failed marriage. The 44-year-old was engaged once again.
Wedding number one was celebrated by Sylvie Meis in 2005 with former soccer star Rafael van der Vaart (40). The two have their son Damian (16). The divorce followed in 2013. Damian, who is now a soccer player himself, has a little half-sister who was born in 2017. The girl’s mother is the handball player Estavana Polman (30), with whom Rafael van der Vaart has been in a relationship since 2016.
After separating from van der Vaart, Sylvie Meis initially reported a brief relationship with a French businessman. In autumn 2014, the TV star appeared alongside US entrepreneur Samuel Deutsch. In early 2015, the couple separated. A shorter relationship with Swiss entrepreneur Maurice “Momo” Mobetie followed before Meis again accepted a marriage proposal.
With the Lebanese businessman Charbel Aouad, it initially looked like great love. The couple got engaged in April 2017 and then surprisingly split in October. “I wholeheartedly said yes to his application, but unfortunately love alone is sometimes not enough,” Meis said in an interview with “Gala” magazine in early 2018. She added: “We realized in the end that we both have different ideas about the future.”
In 2018, Sylvie Meis found a new love in Bart Willemsen. In April 2019, the separation from the Dutch film producer became known. The two were in a relationship for about half a year. “It was a wonderful time together that ended a few weeks ago,” Meis said at the time to the magazine “Bunte” about the breakup.
Also in 2019, Sylvie Meis had something big to celebrate: the presenter and the artist Niclas Castello announced their engagement in October. The two are said to have met at the beginning of June at the wedding of model Barbara Meier (36). They actually wanted to say yes in June 2020, but because of Corona they had postponed the wedding by a few weeks. It finally took place on September 19, 2020 in Florence. The two celebrated with numerous celebrity guests, friends and family members in a magnificent villa.
After two and a half years, this dream of love has now burst. The two explained to the “Bild” newspaper that they “look back on very good times”, but had to acknowledge “that our life situations are too different for a common future”.
