Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger (75) can be seen in his first series lead role from the end of May. “I’m back, baby,” says the action star in a short video teaser for the spy series “FUBAR,” which the Netflix streaming service put online on Monday (local time). Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro (32, “Top Gun: Maverick”) play father and daughter who accidentally find out that they are both secretly working as CIA agents. Despite the lies and secrets, they end up having to work together.

In the teaser for the action-comedy series, Schwarzenegger flaunts a cigar, a pistol and a fast motorcycle, but then a fist punch in the groin puts him out of action. Everything else is still top secret, except that he probably needs an ice pack, Netflix jokes in the announcement. The start of series production is planned for May 25th.

People were always asking him when he would be making another big action comedy like True Lies, Schwarzenegger wrote in a fan newsletter on Monday. The show is exactly that, it makes you laugh, but not just for two hours, but for a whole season, the star explained.

The cast also includes Gabriel Luna (“Terminator: Dark Fate”), Travis Van Winkle (“Transformers”) and Jay Baruchel (“The Kindness of Strangers”). The one-hour episode series is produced by Skydance Television and “Sopranos” writer Nick Santora.
