Since “Star Wars – Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker” from 2019, Rey actress Daisy Ridley (30) has been relatively quiet. But now the 30-year-old seems to be back with an exciting new project. As the industry portal “Deadline” reports, Amazon Studios is apparently developing the thriller “The Better Liar” by author Tanen Jones into a series. Ridley is said to be starring in the project, which has not yet been officially confirmed.
In the 2020 novel The Better Liar, young mother Leslie Flores leads a seemingly perfect life with a loving husband and a dream home in upstate New Mexico. Leslie also takes good care of her dying father, but when she learns after his death that she will only receive her inheritance if she finds her estranged sister, Leslie makes a momentous decision: she hires the actress Mary to to embody her sister Robin – but dark secrets hide in both Mary’s and Robin’s past.
For “Star Wars” star Ridley, “The Better Liar” would be her first series lead role. Behind the project is allegedly producer and screenwriter Raelle Tucker, an experienced author who was already involved in the hit series “Supernatural” (2005-2020) and “True Blood” (2008-2014).
