Never had more: Taylor Swift now has more number one albums than any other artist in US chart history. Swift’s debut record, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), debuted at number one on the album charts, marking her twelfth time at the top of the charts. This is reported by the US magazine “Billboard”, which publishes the charts.
The 33-year-old singer is also the first living artist in nearly 60 years to have four albums in the top 10 simultaneously, according to Billboard. She is also the first to have 11 albums in the top 200 at the same time had. In addition to “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)”, Swift’s “Midnights” (5th place), “Lover” (7th place) and “Folklore” (10th place) are currently in the US charts. Before Swift, only trumpeter Herb Alpert and singer Prince (after his death in 2016) had four albums in the top 10 at the same time.
Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is Swift’s re-recorded version of her 2010 album Speak Now. Due to a dispute with her former label, the singer re-recorded her previous albums so that she can freely dispose of the rights again . It is Swift’s twelfth album to top the US charts. The singer has also overtaken Barbra Streisand (eleven albums) as the woman with the most number one albums in the USA.
Swift is currently on “Eras Tour”. The ticket demand is so great that in some countries the sales portals collapsed. In order to get tickets for the Germany concerts, fans had to adapt to a new procedure. For example, they could initially register for a notification of pre-sale, but could not automatically take part in the pre-sale. This was only possible for a selected part of the fans, others ended up on the waiting list. Those who had not registered in advance could not get tickets at all.
