The singer Stefanie Hertel (43) dares something new and will soon be in the cult musical “Mamma Mia!” sing along with the hits from Abba in Hamburg. On selected dates in April, the folk musician will be on stage as Tanja in the Stage Theater Neue Flora in Hamburg and can therefore be experienced live as one of the three singers of “Donna und die Dynamos”, Stage Entertainment announced.
At least twelve dates in April have already been set. For the first time it is on April 7th (8 p.m.) so far. Further dates – possibly also in May – could follow, as a stage spokeswoman for the German Press Agency said.
Hertel from the Saxon Vogtland is a fan of the band Abba and also of the musical “Mamma Mia!” – with the guest engagement, a long-cherished dream comes true, she said according to the announcement. “”Mamma Mia!” is the ultimate for me. (…) I was there in 2002 at the German premiere in the Stage Operettenhaus and I couldn’t contain myself with joy!” In “Mamma Mia!” she feels like she needs to see it over and over again.
The musical, which features hits like “Dancing Queen”, “Super Trouper” and “Mamma Mia”, is a success story: more than 65 million people in 450 cities have already seen it. It has now been translated into 16 languages. It tells the hearty, whimsical story about the Greek Donna and her daughter Sophie and the three possible fathers. It has been performed again in Hamburg since autumn 2022.
