Singer Jennifer Lopez has shared new photos and details of her wedding to Ben Affleck in her newsletter On The JLo. The couple celebrated a three-day wedding with family members and girlfriend in the US state of Georgia in mid-August. The actor has owned a stately home there since 2003.

Accordingly, there was a dinner to start the celebrations, to which Lopez appeared in a long, golden dress. She showed a photo of it in her newsletter. She wore matching gold accessories and gold jewelry. The 53-year-old did not reveal who designed the outfit. For the ceremony itself, she wore three tailored gowns by US designer Ralph Lauren.

In return, Lopez let her fans know that the preparations did not go as smoothly as it seemed on the outside. “We all caught gastrointestinal virus and had to recover by the end of the week,” the singer wrote. She also reported on other “unexpected setbacks” without going into detail. Apparently there was concern whether the weather would play along for the outdoor wedding. Because “this week it had been raining at sunset every day” — not to mention the thunder and lightning that hit almost every day at the exact time the ceremony was scheduled to begin on Saturday,” Lopez said.

The 53-year-old also revealed that the night before the wedding, she and Affleck had a laugh about getting married again at their age. “We’ve both been married before, and we’re not kids anymore either. But somehow, being this age just seemed like the only thing that made sense. The truth is that everyone’s story is different and we all have to walk our own paths. No man same as the other. But for us it was the perfect timing.”

When Lopez and Affleck finally walked down the aisle, US musician Marc Cohn sang his 1990s hit “True Companion”. Lopez hired the 63-year-old as a wedding singer without Affleck’s knowledge, because the song has a special meaning for the couple: they wanted to get married to the ballad a good 20 years ago. That’s when Lopez and Affleck’s engagement fell through. In the summer of 2022, things will now come full circle.
