Around two weeks after the sudden death of actor Matthew Perry at the age of just 54, his “Friends” colleague Matt LeBlanc (56) also said goodbye publicly.
He did this “with a heavy heart,” the actor wrote on Instagram. “The times we had together are truly some of the favorite times of my life. It was an honor to share the stage with you and to be able to call you a friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I will never forget you.”
Perry was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home in late October. There were initially no details about the cause of death.
The Canadian-American actor became famous especially with the series “Friends”, in which he, LeBlanc, as well as Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer played six young friends in New York. The TV series was produced in the USA from 1994 to 2004 and became a television cult in countless countries. Perry’s colleagues issued a statement together just a few days after his death and spoke of an “unbelievable loss”.
In the series, LeBlanc and Perry had shared an apartment as friends for a time and were constantly joking with and about each other – and so LeBlanc also joked farewell on Instagram: “I guess you’ll keep the 20 dollars you gave me you owe.”
